What is Rift?

Rift is a self-hosted WordPress platform — a single Go binary you install on your own Linux VPS that turns it into a complete WordPress hosting control panel. Deploy WordPress Pro and WooCommerce Pro in one click, with SSL, firewall, reverse proxy and backups handled for you.

Built from scratch in Go for people who want production-grade WordPress hosting on their own server, without the complexity that usually comes with it. Your hardware, your data, no vendor lock-in.

Server Control Panel

Manage Podman, Traefik, SSL, firewall, DNS, automated updates, and your entire Linux stack — from a single, beautiful browser UI.

WordPress, Tuned Right

WordPress Pro and WooCommerce Pro — pre-configured with OpenLiteSpeed and a Valkey object cache, deployed in one click.

Common Questions

Rift, answered.

The questions people ask before they install Rift.

What is Rift?

Toggle answer

Rift is a self-hosted WordPress platform: a single Go binary you install on your own Linux VPS that turns it into a full WordPress hosting control panel. It deploys WordPress Pro and WooCommerce Pro in one click, and handles SSL, firewall, reverse proxy and backups from a browser dashboard.

What does Rift do?

Toggle answer

Rift replaces the DevOps stack you would otherwise assemble by hand. It manages Podman containers, Traefik reverse proxy, automated Let’s Encrypt SSL, firewall rules, DNS, OS updates and S3 backups, and it deploys pre-tuned WordPress stacks running OpenLiteSpeed and a Valkey object cache. After a one-time bootstrap script you never touch the CLI again.

What makes WordPress Pro and WooCommerce Pro different from standard installations?

Toggle answer

Unlike a standard WordPress installation, our Pro editions feature dynamic performance auto-tuning. Based on your server's available RAM, Rift automatically provisions PHP workers, scales OPcache memory, and tunes OpenLiteSpeed concurrent connections. WooCommerce Pro receives a dedicated, heavier performance profile to handle e-commerce loads without crashing. Additionally, core updates are containerized and managed immutably via the Rift panel for maximum security.

Is Rift free?

Toggle answer

Rift has a 14-day free trial with no card required. After that it is a one-time or recurring licence: $6 per month, $49 per year, or $99 once for a lifetime licence. There are no per-site or per-seat fees, and no monthly SaaS bill on top of your own server.

How is Rift different from managed WordPress hosting?

Toggle answer

With managed hosting you rent someone else’s infrastructure and pay per site. With Rift you own the server: you bring any VPS from DigitalOcean, Hetzner, Vultr, Linode, AWS or anywhere else, and Rift turns it into the platform. Your data stays on your hardware, configuration lives in a portable SQLite database, and there is no vendor lock-in.
